This is the circular economy in action: keeping materials in use, reducing landfill, and lowering demand for virgin quarry resources – and it happens right here in Brooklyn Industrial Precinct.
The Brooklyn Recycling Group (BRG) brings together leading resource recovery businesses within the Brooklyn Industrial Precinct to improve environmental performance, maintain high operational standards, and foster positive community engagement.
Following several years of collaboration, the BRG was formally established in 2024 through the signing of Victoria's first Better Environment Plan (BEP)—a voluntary agreement with EPA Victoria that supports improved air quality while advancing Victoria's Circular Economy Strategy.
The founding BRG members operate within the Somerville Road, Jones Road and Bunting Road precinct and include:
In 2026, Pelligra joined the partnership, further strengthening the group's collective commitment to sustainable industry leadership.
In September 2025, the Brooklyn Recycling Group received the Greenstart Award at the 35th Australian Freight Industry Awards in recognition of its innovative Better Environment Plan.
Through this unique partnership, BRG members are taking practical action to reduce emissions, improve air quality, enhance local amenity, and demonstrate how industry can work collaboratively to deliver better environmental outcomes.

Construction and demolition recycling recovers a wide range of materials, including:
Concrete - Asphalt - Brick - Rock - Soil - Timber - Aggregates - Metals - Plasterboard
Rather than being discarded, these materials are sorted, processed and manufactured into valuable products that are commonly used in roads, pavements, drainage works, civil infrastructure and new construction projects.
Together, BRG member businesses make a significant contribution to Victoria's high construction and demolition recycling rates, helping conserve natural resources while supporting a more sustainable and resilient circular economy. Visit C&D Recycling section to learn more.
